Surf trip Brittany

Brittany is the place to be for surfing, windsurfing—well, all water sports, really—for both beginners and advanced surfers. Sailing, diving, swimming, kitesurfing, waterskiing, bodyboarding, stand-up paddleboarding, canoeing... and so on. And you know what, it's possible all year round...even in the winter months, many enthusiasts are in the water on beautiful (and not so beautiful) days...the waves are actually much better in autumn, winter, and spring than in summer. And it's certainly less crowded. So what's stopping you? Grab your gear and head over here. We can point you to the best surf spots from here.

Surfing is possible on most beaches along the coast; which beach has the best conditions depends entirely on the tide, swell, wind, and weather. The coastline is jagged, so no matter the direction of the swell and wind, there's bound to be a spot where it works.

Beaches like Lines and Sainte Barbe mainly offer a beach break, while the Cote Sauvage is a hollow point break and more suitable for advanced surfers.

  • Ste Barbe / Kerhilio (15 min)
  • Ty Guerite / Ty Hoche (20 mins)
  • Port Bara Quiberon (25 min)

Besides the above, there are many other good spots nearby! And if it doesn't work out here, we can always go to the other side of Lorient. Finistere also offers good conditions if it doesn't work out here, but it's a bit further away...

We have equipment (boards & wetsuits) available and we can provide surfing lessons and clinics, so if you dare to take on the challenge of the waves and want to learn to surf...just send us a message.

We also have stand-up paddleboards you can take with you to explore the Petite Mer de Gavres or La Ria d'Etel, or we can drop you off somewhere upriver and pick you up again a little later at a different location. It's a really great activity, perfect for two or with the kids!  Click here for photos.
